Prof. Giuseppe CARBONE

 

Curriculum Vitae (italiano)

Giuseppe Carbone è nato a Bitonto (BA) il 09 agosto del 1971. Nel febbraio 1998 consegue con lode la laurea in Ingegneria Meccanica e nel 2002 il Titolo di Dottore di Ricerca. Attualmente è Ricercatore Confermato presso il Politecnico di Bari. In Dicembre 2010, è risultato idoneo con giudizio unanime della commissione in una valutazione comparativa a Professore Associato in Meccanica Applicata alle Macchine (ING-IND/13). Nel 2009 ha fondato con un finanziamento di 500k€ della Regione Puglia il laboratorio di Tribologia di cui è responsabile scientifico. Il laboratorio si avvale della collaborazione di 1 ricercatore, 3 post doc e 2 dottorandi di ricerca. Dal 2003 viene regolarmente invitato come Visiting Scientist e Research Fellow presso il Research Center di Juelich (D) e la Eindhoven University of Technology (NL). I suoi principali interessi di ricerca riguardano la tribologia, la meccanica del contatto, la superidrorepellenza, le trasmissioni meccaniche. Dal 2005 è componente del collegio dei docenti del Dottorato in Progettazione Meccanica e Biomeccanica, dal 2009 è componente del collegio del dottorato di Ingegneria delle Macchine entrambi del Politecnico di Bari. Nel periodo 2007-2009 è stato membro del collegio dei docenti del dottorato in Manufacturing Systems and Robotica, presso la Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, Lausanne, Switzerland. Dal 2007 è membro dell’editorial board della rivista Open Mechanics Journal, Bentham Science Publishers Ltd. Inoltre è referee si numerose e importanti riviste internazionali quali: The Journal of the Mechanics and Physics of Solids, Langmuir, European Journal of Mechanics A/Solids, Journal of Mechanics of Materials and Structures, International Journal of Solids & Structures, Lubrication Science, Structural Engineering and Mechanics, EPL e altre. Viene, inoltre, regolarmente invitato plenary lectures di importanti conferenze internazionali e a contributire con propri lavori su libri e riviste internazionali.

Giuseppe Carbone was born in Bitonto, Bari - Italy on August 9, 1971. He is currentlty Assistant Professor of Applied Mechanics - Politecnico di Bari - Italy. In December 2010 he won a selection for an Associate Professor position. He gained is Mechanical Engineering Degree on Fenruary 1998 and in February 2002 the Ph. D. degree at Politecnico di Bari Italy. In 2009 he has founded the Tribology Lab of which he is scientific coordinator. The staff of the lab is also constitute by 1 assistant professor, 3 post docs and 2 PhD students. His main area of scientific interest are the Micro and nano-tribology, contact mechanics, crack propagation in viscoelastic materials, friction, adhesion, superhydrophobicity, sealings, Continuously variable transmissionsand Toroidal traction drives. Since 2003 he's regularly invited as Visiting Scientist and Research Fellow at the Forschungszentrum-Juelich, Institute of Solid State Research (D). He's also regularly invited as Visiting Scientist and Visiting Professor at the Eindhoven University of Technology. Since Jan. 2005 he is component of the Committee of the Ph.D. course in Mechanical and Biomechanical Engineering and since Oct. 2009 he is component of the Committee of the Ph.D. course in Machines Engineering. During the period 2007-2009 he has been Component of the Committee of the Ph.D. course in Manufacturing Systems and Robotics - Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, Lausanne, Switzerland. He is member of the Editorial Board of Open Mechanics Journal, Bentham Science Publishers Ltd and referee of several journals as: The Journal of the Mechanics and Physics of Solids, Langmuir, European Journal of Mechanics A/Solids, Journal of Mechanics of Materials and Structures, International Journal of Solids & Structures, Lubrication Science, Structural Engineering and Mechanics, EPL and others. He is also regularly invited to give plenary lectures at international conference and publish on international journals and books.
