Curriculum Vitae (italiano)

Pietro De Palma e' nato a Bari il 29 aprile 1966. Si e' laureato con lode in Ingegneria Meccanica, presso l'Universita' degli Studi di Bari, il 29 giugno 1989.
Ha conseguito nel giugno 1990 il "Diploma with honours" presso il "von Karman Institute for Fluid Dynamics", ricevendo il "Belgian Government Prize".
E' stato ricercatore per il gruppo di discipline I04--Macchine e Sistemi Energetici, presso il Politecnico di Bari dal primo giugno 1992.
Ha conseguito il titolo di Dottore di Ricerca in Ingegneria delle Macchine il 20 luglio 1993.
Dal primo novembre 1998 e' professore di II fascia per il settore scientifico disciplinare ING-IND/08. Ha prestato servizio dall'1.11.98 all'1.11.01 presso l'Universita' degli Studi di Roma "Tor Vergata" e in seguito si e' trasferito presso il Politecnico di Bari.
E' autore di oltre sessanta lavori scientifici nel settore della fluidodinamica delle macchine e della fluidodinamica numerica, di cui circa quindici pubblicati su riviste o libri a divulgazione internazionale e cinque presantati su invito a congressi internazionali.
Ha partecipato a due progetti di ricerca Brite/Euram, a due progetti COFIN nell' ambito di uno dei quali e' stato responsabile scientifico di sede, e ad un progetto COFINLab.

 

Curriculum Vitae (english)

Pietro De Palma was born in Bari (Italy) on April 29th 1966.
He graduated with honours in Mechanical Engineering at Universita' di Bari in 1989.
He has attended the "Diploma Course in Fluid Dynamics" at the von Karman Institute for Fluid Dynamics (Belgium), where he graduated with honours in 1990 and was awarded the "Belgian Government Prize". In 1993 he obtained a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at Politecnico di Bari.
He has been assistant professor at Politecnico di Bari from 1992 until 1998. In 1998 he became associate professor of Mechanical Engineering at the Mechanical Engineering Department of the Universita' di Roma "Tor Vergata" and from november 2001 he is associate professor at the Mechanical Engineering Department of the Politecnico di Bari.
He has been involved in the design of a numerical methodology for compressible flows based on multidimensional wave modeling and in the numerical analysis of complex flows in turbomachinery.
He is author of more than sixty publications: about fifteen articles have been published in international journals and books and five have been invited lectures to international conferences. He was involved in two international Brite/Euram research projects, two national COFIN reaserch project and one COFINLab project.
