Prof. Michele FIORENTINO

 

Curriculum Vitae (italiano)

Laureato con lode in Ingegneria Meccanica e dottore di Ricerca in Sistemi avanzati di produzione. Dal 2002 è ricercatore universitario in Disegno e Metodi dell’Ingegneria Industriale e in servizio presso il Dipartimento di Ingegneria Meccanica e Gestionale del Politecnico di Bari (Dimeg). Dal 2003 è membro del Centro di Eccellenza in Meccanica Computazionale (CEMeC). Il principale ambito di ricerca riguarda lo sviluppo e la sperimentazione di nuovi metodi informatici per il Computer Aided Design e la visualizzazione di dati ingegneristici mediante Virtual e Augmented Reality e tangibile interfaces. E’ stato visiting researcher nel 2002 presso il dipartimento A2 (applicazioni industriali) del Fraunhofer Istitute di Darmstadt (IGD) e nel 2009 dell’ presso l’ICG, Graz University of Technology, Graz, Austria. Ha collaborato a progetti internazionali (es. VEGA FP6, SSA Project ACC e Smart Sketches IST-2000-28169) e nazionali (COFIN-PRIN 2000-2006). Nel 2003 l’INI-GraphicsNet, ha insignito Michele Fiorentino del premio Best Paper Award e nel 2001 vincitore di borsa Leonardo. E’ autore di più di 40 pubblicazioni internazionali di cui 9 su rivista internazionale e 3 capitoli di libro. E’ revisore di giornali internazionali come CAD Journal (Elsevier), il Journal on Interactive Design and Manufacturing (IJIDeM) e conferenze internazionali come Tools and Methods of Competitive Engineering (TMCE) e ASME.

1999 bachelor with laude in Mechanical Engineering from Politecnico di Bari, Italy. 2002 faculty Researcher in Technical drawings and methods for industrial engineering at Dipartimento di Ingegneria Meccanica e Gestionale (Dimeg), Politecnico di Bari. From 2003 member of Centro di Eccellenza in Meccanica Computazionale (CEMeC). The scientific activity of Michele Fiorentino spreads in multidisciplinary areas of the Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Human Computer Interaction (HCI). His main focus is to investigate and improve the user interface of computer aided engineering and engineering data visualization applications. He visited and collaborated with the most active research groups in the field: in 2002 visiting researcher at the A2 - Fraunhofer IGD, Germany; in 2009 Visiting researcher at ICG, Graz University of Technology, Austria. In 2003 he received the Best Paper Award, INI-GraphicsNet, and in 2001 he was winner of the EU Leonardo Fellowship. He is author of more than 40 international publications, 9 on international journals and 3 book chapters. Currently reviewer for CAD Journal (Elsevier), International Journal on Interactive Design and Manufacturing (IJIDeM), Tools and Methods of Competitive Engineering (TMCE) and ASME conferences.
