Ing. Annarita VIGGIANO

 

Curriculum Vitae (italiano)

Annarita Viggiano è attualmente ricercatore confermato presso la Facoltà di Ingegneria dell’Università degli Studi della Basilicata. Ha conseguito il titolo di Dottore di Ricerca in Ingegneria delle Macchine, XV ciclo, presso il Politecnico di Bari e la laurea summa cum laude in Ingegneria per l’Ambiente e il Territorio, indirizzo Ambiente, presso l'Università degli Studi della Basilicata. Ha svolto attività di ricerca presso il Centro Ricerche Fiat di Torino e attività di ricerca post-dottorato presso il Politecnico di Bari. È stata docente titolare del corso di “Macchine e Sistemi Energetici” dall’A.A. 2003-2004 all’A.A. 2006-2007 e, a partire dall’A.A. 2007-2008, è docente titolare del corso di “Fluidodinamica delle Macchine” presso la Facoltà di Ingegneria dell’Università degli Studi della Basilicata. È membro del Collegio dei Docenti del Dottorato di Ricerca in “Ingegneria Industriale e dell’Innovazione”. La sua attività di ricerca è incentrata sull’analisi di flussi reagenti e non reagenti mediante simulazione numerica con modelli di tipo continuo (RANS, LES, DNS) e discreto (MD, QMD, DPD) per lo sviluppo di sistemi energetici sostenibili. I principali temi di ricerca sono: simulazione DNS di fiamme diffusive, simulazione RANS di MCI, sviluppo e analisi di meccanismi cinetici di ossidazione di combustibili tradizionali e alternativi, sviluppo di codici di calcolo per simulazioni con tecniche Quasi Molecular Dynamics e Dissipative Particle Dynamics, implementazione di codici OpenMP e MPI per il calcolo ad alte prestazioni. Ha coordinato un progetto di ricerca “Progetto Giovani Ricercatori, 2001” presso l’Università degli Studi della Basilicata e diversi HPC Grants presso il CASPUR di Roma. È autore di numerosi lavori pubblicati su riviste scientifiche internazionali, capitoli di libri e sugli atti di congressi internazionali e nazionali. È stata revisore di un progetto europeo ed è revisore per la rivista “Combustion and Flame”.

Curriculum Vitae (English)

Annarita Viggiano has been Assistant Professor at the University of Basilicata since October 2006. Graduated with honours in Environmental Engineering at the University of Basilicata, Italy, she worked as research fellow at "Centro Ricerche Fiat", Orbassano (TO), Italy. She got her Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at the Polytechnic-University of Bari, Italy, in July 2003. She was post-doctoral researcher at the Polytechnic-University of Bari until February 2006 and lecturer of the course ‘Fluid Machinery and Energy Systems’ at the University of Basilicata until 2007. She is member of the teaching staff of ‘Industrial Engineering’ Ph.D. program and is lecturer of the course ‘Fluid Dynamics in ICEs and Turbomachinery’ (graduate level) at the Engineering Faculty of the University of Basilicata, Italy. Her research activity is focused on Computational Fluid Dynamics for the study of non-reacting and reacting flows of engineering interest. She has dealt with DNS simulations of non-premixed flames, RANS simulations of ICEs, development and analysis of simplified kinetic mechanisms for conventional and alternative fuels oxidation, development of Quasi Molecular Dynamics and Dissipative Particle Dynamics codes, implementation of OpenMP and MPI parallel codes for high performance computing machines. She was the principal investigator of a research project “Progetto Giovani Ricercatori, 2001” at the University of Basilicata, of a CASPUR 2007 High Performance Computing Project and of a CASPUR Standard HPC Grant 2010 and is the principal investigator of a CASPUR Standard HPC Grant 2011. She is author and co-author of several scientific papers, published in international journals, books and in the proceedings of international and national conferences. She was awarded 2002 Banca Mediterranea prize for degree thesis, was reviewer for a European project and is reviewer for “Combustion and Flame” journal.
